Clean Up Your Credit Profile!

This is going to be the single most important financial TIP that you will read. This will be you financial savior for both you and your family. If you want to own a home one day or be able to receive credit from any registered financial institutions in the near future, make sure you follow the steps below.

Step 1:
Contact the credit bureaus and check to see if you are listed with either the ITC credit bureau or Experien credit bureau. My suggestion and should you prefer, is pull an online report. This will give you payment profiles and listings on BOTH ITC and Experian. You can do this online for a once off charge of R59 by clicking here to check your credit record today! This is step one to clearing up your credit profile.

Step 2:
Make sure you understand what is on your credit profile and whether or not you are listed. Things to watch out for: Judgments, Defaults, Notices and Trace Alerts. Must check BOTH ITC and Experian.

Step 3:
If you're listed there should be contact details for the people who listed you. If not contact whichever bureau has you listed, this will either be ITC or Experian. Make sure that they give you the FULL AMOUNT outstanding including any interest you may have accumulated. NOTE: If this is a judgment you will need to have the judgment rescinded in court, which means you will need to contact a litigation attorney. I suggest contacting the NCR - 0860 627 627.

Step 4:
1. Pay the full amount or organise a payment schedule if you cannot afford the full amount.
2. Fax a copy of proof of payment to BOTH the credit bureau & the company that has listed you.
3. Make a follow up call every couple of days to ensure that they haven't let your query slide. You should be removed within 3 weeks.

REMEMBER: The banks policies are simple... Bad credit profile, NO CREDIT!
